“One of PHS’s best musicals in over a decade!” – Rachael Fuller

Come watch Plainwell High School’s 2026 musical, Hadestown! The show will be running from Friday March 27 through Sunday March 29. Both Friday and Saturday’s shows start at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 29 starts at 2 p.m..

Hadestown is a retelling of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. A riff between Hades and Persephone leads Hades to bring Eurydice to the underworld, or ‘Hadestown’. Orpheus’ quest is to save Eurydice from the depths of the Underworld.

The cast is excited to share their hard work with you. Here are some peeks into what some of the cast members have to say about the show!

Avry Asbeury ’27 has been in the musical program at the Plainwell High School for three years. He plays Orpheus, who is one of the main characters in the Hadestown musical. Asbeury’s favorite part of his role is all the singing and dancing he gets to do, but his favorite part of the whole musical is the ending.

Samantha Zuziak ’29 has been in the musical program since January 2026. She is a chorus member in this new musical. Zuziak’s favorite part about her role as a chorus member is the dancing but shares that of the whole musical her favorite part is the cast members she gets to work with daily. She thinks people should come watch Hadestown because all the cast members have put in a lot of work to make this musical great.

Riley Fouch ’29 recently joined the musical program in January 2026. She is part of the ensemble in Hadestown. Fouch’s favorite part of her role is being on stage, but in the background. Being a part of the ensemble you are the glue that brings the musical to life.

Tessa Dunckel ’28 is now on her second year in the musical program at Plainwell High School. She is the Assistant Stage Manager, and she loves being backstage, watching everything happen. Dunckel’s favorite part about Hadestown is the music. She wants people to come and watch the musical because it is one of the best musicals Plainwell High School has put on in a while.
