The Grammy Awards show achievements in music and the uniqueness of different artists. There is usually drama that surrounds the Grammys; here is what you need to know that happened this year.

There were rumors that the artist Bad Bunny had to wear a bulletproof vest to the Grammys, due to people threatening him after learning he was performing the halftime show at the Super Bowl. While there is no proof that Bad Bunny actually wore the vest, many fans have suspected it on various social media platforms because of his outfits.

There were many artists who wore “ICE OUT” pins at the Grammys to protest against ICE. Some artists you may know of include Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Kehlani, and many other known artists in the industry. Even some celebrities, who weren’t wearing the pins, mentioned ICE to the paparazzi while walking the carpet.

Trevor Noah, who hosted the Grammys speech this year, accused Nicki Minaj of being with President Donald Trump during the Grammys. Noah states, “Nicki Minaj is not here, she is not here, she is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues, actually,” with many people in the background laughing and nodding their heads in agreement. This caused President Donald Trump to post a tweet, stating that he would “sue” Trevor Noah over the joke.

Olivia Dean won the Best New Artist Award, and her speech was very heartwarming to some. She spoke out on the situations with ICE, even saying, “I’m up here as the granddaughter of an immigrant,” which made the crowd roar with claps and cheers. She celebrated the strengths of immigrants while accepting her award, as well as honoring her roots and giving them the recognition they deserve.

This year, The Grammy’s wasn’t just about the music awards. It was also about powerful and heartfelt speeches and emotional tributes regarding the events happening in the U.S.
