Get the popcorn and the 3D glasses, its time to pre-game for thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a time for many traditions ; turkey, football, hunting, and last but not least the movies. Whether scary or funny, movies put you in a mood that will help you find one more thing to be thankful for.

One of the masterpieces is A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving special is one of the only Charlie Brown episodes that still air.

“I love our family tradition of watching Charlie Brown every year after we eat,” said Logan Richter ‘14.

The famous episode still airs because it has a great theme and many hilarious jokes that never get old. It has been awarded an Emmy Award and has been playing around every thanksgiving since 1973.

Another timeless classic is The Miracle on 34th Street. Although It has a Kris Kringle theme it takes place during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and prepares kids and adults alike for the holiday spirit.

“Its been awhile but I could never forget a movie that is as well made as the Miracle on 34th Street,” said former student Daniel Demory.

It was released in 1947 and has been reproduced and talked about for many years since.

Of course you can’t forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving and The Mouse On The Mayflower is just the movie to help you remember. It features a  mouse that has to figure out how to survive by planting crops in the spring and celebrating the big harvest in the fall. This is known as the first Thanksgiving.

Whatever your choice is, a movie is a great way to kill the time and put you in the holiday spirit while waiting for the long awaited meal.
